Sunday, 2nd January 2011 - marine drive

Went off to Marine Drive today morning to do a short run following yesterday's huge run at the MRC. Did not join Milton's group starting from Bandra nor Kaushik's group starting from Khar. Priya came with me from Bangur Nagar so we pretty much travelled together in the early morning from goregaon station though she went by the ladies compartment. When we reached NRC, there was news that there was no NRC, so next best thing - run in the marine drive which was anyway my plan. Started off slowly testing my ITBC so the pace was deliberately kept very slow - weather was brilliant for running - early morning chill coupled with a cool breeze wafting across from the arabian sea - great place to run marine drive always bustling with runners especially at this time of the year - practising for the january marathon in Mumbai. Reached NCPA turned back,, talking comfortably taking in the early morning ethereal beauty of marine drive - its queens necklace still shining and resplendent in the early morning glory as if watiing for the queen to come by. Met Mike somewhere down the road and he returned with us and also commented on my slow pace. Went a little up the malabar hill did not like the place with all kinds of poops though a steep climb, the road was not good it was curving on the sides - difficult to keep balance. on the way back ran into sunder and then ran with him for some time, going up and down few times with rohit bansal, milton etc. finished 14.30 km in 2.01.07 hours. Had breakfast at stadium restaurant.

week ending 27th june

Finished the week ending 27th june with only two runs over the weekend - a 9.4 kms effort at Aarey - this time going over the hill slowly and taking it through and a 11.5 kms run in Marine Drive on sunday - this was a super effort because the humidity levels were killing and coupled with that - absence of breeze and presence of sun made it difficult to run. However, running in marine drive is an experience in itself to be savoured.

Sunday Run - 14th February 2010

Had a good run at Marine Drive today with the NRC. Had to go to collect my photographs from the post SCMM lounge event, which fortunately was kept for me. Running in Marine Drive has its own attraction, a beautiful venue, an electric atmosphere with so many runners going up and down, a scenic view of the Arabian sea and also the sun beating down gently on the open road.  Had a good workout for 61 minutes.

Sunday Long run - Sunday, 27th December 2009

Did a long run of 2 hrs 17 mins 16 seconds today, started from Marine Drive on the churchgate signal junction towards NCPA and back all the way to Babulnath corner and went all the way up the Kemps Corner flyover, Pedder Road to Haji Ali signal turned back same way, turned at Babulnath corner back into Marine Drive all the way to NCPA and returned to Charni Road (under the flyover) - nearly the Girgaum chowpatty and ran back to the Charni Road station. Longest time ever achieved today. Wanted to break the 2.15 hours mark and did that comfortably, took all the uphills on the Kemps Corner flyover and back on the Pedder road uphill.

Today's long run at Marine Drive turned out to be a short run, only 42.53 minutes. Heavyness was too much in the legs, arms were bogging me down, overall not good at all, lack of sleep last two days and upset stomach today main culprits
